Basic Guidelines For Following Corporate Dress Code
Every workplace has a dress code even if it’s not as firmly implemented as corporate workplaces. But if you work in a corporate office, it is even more important for you to observe basic sydney workwear in order to look professional and disciplined. Here are some basic guidelines that you should follow in order to maintain a professional outlook;
Don’t wear revealing clothes
Clothes that reveal too much skin such as off shoulders or backless dresses can be inappropriate for work places especially in the corporate sector. Granted, they look great for a night out with friends or a casual dinner, but in an office setting, they can be deemed inappropriate or highly distracting for other people. It’s imperative that you maintain a professional dress code so people deal with the person rather than the gender.

Dress formally
Formal dressing is a basic rule in the workplace. Shorts, casual footwear like sandals or sneakers, or t-shirts are deemed inappropriate for the workplace and they make you look lazy and incapable of getting the job done. So make sure you look put together enough that clients want to give you their business knowing that you’re the right person for the job and you can get it done properly. They need to see that they can put their confidence in you.
Avoid excessive perfume
Smelling nice is an important thing but excessive use of perfume is a no-go in a corporate workplace. This can be distracting for coworkers and can frankly, get annoying real fast. It can also seem like you use perfume as an alternative to showering and that you are overcompensating for lack of hygiene.
Keep jewelry to a minimum
Shiny, popping or dangly jewelry should be avoided in the workplace as that can be distracting not only for yourself but also for your coworkers and your clients. When you’re speaking to a client, the focus should be you and your pitch rather than what you wear or your accessories that pop out too much. Keep a formal attire and get the job done as well as you can.
Avoid Popping colors
In a corporate workplace whether time is little and everyone is racing against the clock to get the job done, wearing bright, neon or popping colors can get distracting and annoying for people as they can lose focus every time you walk by or talk to them. Not to mention, it can look extremely unprofessional in a corporate setting.
